Nacho’s Culture Notes

My name is Ignacio M. Sánchez Prado and this is the newsletter in which I write short observations on books, films, food, teaching and other issues related to culture. I am a scholar of Mexican literature, cinema and gastronomy at Washington University in St. Louis and the author of many books and essays. You can read about me and fine some of my works here

In Nacho’s culture notes I use the name by which my friends know me—Nacho is short for Ignacio in Spanish in case you don’t know. To read about the history of how someone named like me invented nachos, the food, you can go here,

This newsletter will be updated roughly once a week, depending on the rhythms and flows of the academic semester and any encounter with books, films or cultural objects that excite me. It will always be free. Thank you for reading.
